Bren/Kir Industrial Supplies Limited is a Newfoundland – owned industrial safety Supply Company that sells numerous different fire, safety and industrial products. The company was incorporated in 1985, headquartered in Marystown, Newfoundland.

Bren/Kir Industrial Supplies was established by Mike Brennan and Wade Kirby (with backgrounds as a steelworker and millwright, respectively) on March 15^th, 1985 as a home based business utilizing spare bedroom space for warehousing. The original method of operation was via a colorfully painted van traveling to various locations for product demonstration. In 1988, the business moved into its first office space, consisting of 600 square feet, and an additional 1500 square feet was leased nearby.

The company began with one location, but as business broadened, it was obvious that a site close to the large provincial center of St. John’s was necessary. Thus, the Mount Pearl office was opened in 1991 with two staff members and 1800 square feet of storage space.

In 1994, the company again recognized the need for expansion. A new facility was constructed for the Marystown headquarters, consisting of 6000, feet of office showroom, and warehouse space. Immediately following the completion of this new facility, a second warehouse was added adjacent to the first, increasing storage capacity by 2000 square feet. Within a year, a 1500 square foot showroom was added to the front of the main office, followed shortly by a relocation of the Mt. Pearl Branch to a 6000 square foot facility, in addition another 3000 square feet was attached in 2006. In 2003, a third warehouse was added to the Marystown headquarters, increasing floor space by an additional 15,000 square feet.

In 2002, Bren/Kir Industrial Supplies was granted full ISO-9001:2000 Certification, showing the company’s dedication to quality and service to its customers.

The employees at Bren/Kir volunteer with over 15 charitable organizations. Many of these are the same as Hydro, such as Mount Pearl Chamber Of Commerce, Heart and Stoke Foundation, Canadian Blood Services, and the Cancer Society.

Bren/Kir sponsors many customer and community events. Such as the Hydro Safety week, Curling Bonspiel, RNC Ride For Dads, Cadets, Volunteer Fire Departments, just to name a few.

The Mt. Pearl Branch has grown over time, to a total of 8 employees. Added to the twelve employees at the Marystown location, Bren/Kir boasts an overall workforce of twenty employees. Timely efficient response to requests, as well as professional service has become synonymous with the company name and has resulted in numerous awards and loyal, repeat customers.

Our main focus has always been to supply safety industrial supplies to Newfoundland Industrial Companies with quality products at a fair market price with the support demanded by industry. We are proud of our achievements to date with the Hydro Group Of Companies and look forward to the future with enthusiasm.
